Lené van Heerden

I help you move better, for longer.

I’m Lené, a physiotherapist and co-founder of MAP Movement. I teach group classes and one-on-one sessions that work with your fascia, so moving feels easier and freer.

How I help you

You don’t need to be strong or flexible to start. We begin where your body is today.

  1. One-on-one MAP session

We start here, one-on-one. I look at how you move, where you hold tension and what your body needs, and together we find your starting point. You’ll need this session before joining a group class.

  2. Weekly group classes

Next, you join a small weekly class on a monthly membership. Miss a class? Make it up in another one that month, as long as there’s space.

  3. Keep moving when the studio’s closed

On public holidays I send you a video to follow at home. When the studio closes for the summer, you’ll have my online classes and short movement snacks you can do anywhere.

Joining a group? Please read and sign my membership and consent form before your first class.

About me

I grew up in South Africa and now live in Utrecht, where I opened the first MAP Movement studio in Europe.

My heart lies in sports rehabilitation, movement education and breath retraining. Athletes whose injuries kept coming back led me abroad to study fascia, and what I learned changed how I help people recover.

MAP stands for Myofascial Activated Posture, a method I developed with fellow physiotherapist Christien Mann. Instead of training muscles one at a time, we move along the fascial lines that connect your whole body, led by the breath.
