Welcome to the MAP Movement family

Before your first class, please read these points and sign at the bottom. It takes about five minutes.

Membership and attendance

  1. Individual MAP sessions

Individual MAP sessions are payable at the end of each session and are a prerequisite for joining a group class.

  2. Group membership and payment

Group sessions are payable one month in advance. Invoices are sent around the 22nd of each month and payment is due before the 7th of the following month.

  3. Missed classes and catch-up sessions

When you are on leave or miss a class, the class is forfeited. You are welcome to make up a missed class in another timeslot, provided there is space available. Missed classes cannot be carried over to the following month.

  4. Cancelling a class

Please cancel at least 2 hours before the start of your class if you are unable to attend. This allows clients on the waiting list an opportunity to take your place.

  5. Public holidays

There are no in-studio classes on official public holidays. You will, however, receive a home video so that you can keep moving on the day.

  6. School holidays and stand-in teachers

During school holidays, the studio will remain open wherever possible. If I am unable to teach, a stand-in trainer will be arranged where possible. Classes may be offered either in-studio or online.

  7. Studio closures and holidays

If the studio is closed for an extended period, for example during the European summer break, an online platform/app will be provided. This gives you access to movement classes and movement snacks from your phone or laptop, so that we can keep you moving throughout your holiday.

  8. Cancelling your membership

One month’s paid notice is required when you wish to terminate your group classes.

MAP Movement and fascia work

  1. Participation and liability

By signing this form, you acknowledge that participation in MAP Movement sessions is at your own responsibility and agree not to hold me personally, or MAP as a company, liable for any loss of any kind suffered by you during a MAP session.

  2. Consent to MAP technique

By signing this form, you give written consent to the MAP technique, which may include physical manipulation of soft tissue such as muscles and connective tissue.

  3. What to expect from fascia body work

Fascial work is a slow process, with permanent changes developing over approximately 6–24 months. During the process, you may experience body aches, flu-like symptoms or bruising, as fascia release can sometimes be uncomfortable or painful. Fascia work may also create an emotional response, as we can hold onto trauma in our bodies. Lymphatic detox may also occur. Drinking plenty of water can support recovery, and avoiding excess sugar is recommended.
